Sunburst mirror…revisited!
So, I’m linking up to my first craft party (I think that’s what they’re called?!?)
Over at the CSI Project, this week’s challenge is PAINT!!! As mentioned before, I will paint anything…and I DO mean anything.
I’m entering the sunburst mirror, created and painted for Peyton’s big girl room! Here’s my updated post:
I‘m a big fan of the Sunburst Mirror.
However, I am not a fan of the high price tag. I just can’t justify spending so much on one item…especially when it’s not a necessity! So…after perusing several Decor and DIY blogs, I decided to make my own! I used:
- 1- 8” diameter mirror $4
- 2- packs of wooden skewers $6
- wood glue $3
- picture hanging hook (free- I had it already : )
Directions:
1. Cut half of the skewers in half (using craft scissors).
2. Take the longer skewers and glue them to the back of the mirror, spacing them equal distance apart.

3. After all of the long skewers are glued down, glue the shorter skewers in between the longer ones.

4. Next glue on a picture hook…and then it’s ready for a paint job (my favorite part!)
5. I chose fun, bright colors since it’s going in my daughter’s room!
