Coastal Keepsakes.

This weekend we ventured to the beach for a few days.  We met my husband’s family there and it was a wonderful time!

We mostly ate and walked along the boardwalk and beach, but we also did some shopping for keepsakes.

Being the bargain shopper that I am, I purchased these lovely postcards for $1!  Yep, 4 for $1!

I’ve got plans to matte and frame each postcard…I love cheap art that doesn’t look cheap!

While at a museum along the coast, I spotted a beautiful handpainted tile.  But I’m a cheapie conservative buyer, so I didn’t want to pay $12 for one tile.

Thankfully my husband could tell how much I wanted it..So he snuck back to the museum and bought it for me!

**Aren’t the lovebirds cute?!! And I love that it has coastal colors without looking too beachy.**

Thanks baby!

mini Man Cave.

It seems like most of my projects and posts are about our little girl’s room and never about our little boy’s room.  That’s because he currently has no room of his own : (  But when we purchase a house, our little man will finally have some space to call his own…when he begins to talk, that is!

I don’t have any definite ideas, but here are some things that I’ve already purchased (or re-purposed!)…

Wicker basket to hold diapers…FREE

Wooden Robot and Car…FREE (they were my husband’s when he was a child : )

Chocolate Brown and white polka dot photo frames (I purchased 4)…$8 @ Roses.

Blue &Green circle frame w/ bone inlay…$3 @ Marshall’s

Blue & white Quilt place mats (to make throw pillows)…$5 @ TJMaxx

Pale Green scrap fabric (more pillows!)…$3.46 @ JoAnn’s

Pale Green & Yellow place mats (to make wall art/collage)…FREE

Yellow & Pale Green cloth Bin (to organize toys…yeah right!)…$13 @ Target

Green table (to use as nightstand)…originally purchased for Peyton’s room $16 @ Target

A group shot to get an idea of the color scheme…

So, what do you think?  Any ideas?

P.S.  Sorry for the bad photo quality!  Until we purchase a new camera, all of my original pics will be from my Mac’s icamera!

bargain shopping.

Target and TJ Maxx are my two favorite stores…hands down.  So last week, after a lunch date with my sweetheart, I headed to TJMaxx’s sister store…Marshall’s.  And these are the bargains that I scooped up.

This picture frame was only $3.00 ….the picture doesn’t do it justice!

this beautiful little vase was only $4.99!

And this adorable piece of porcelain was only $0.70!!!

Yep, $0.70!!!

And this white wooden picture frame for $2.00!  (I even like the print that came with it!)
